  1. Are you the author of The Hustlers? Discovered the book while trolling the ‘net for news of one John Burke ( John the Silent!)whom I knew well before he hooked up with Aspinall.

Been away from Ireland (New Haven CT) for a long time but have very strong memories of John, The Bailey, Davy Byrnes et al. And thereafter his and many early years in London…..I recently tried to find out from John Ryan’s widow if he was still on the twig, but she didn’t know. Maybe you do? That is if you really are that Douglas Thompson…..Happy New Year MNK

    • Sadly not, Ms Kelly. That Douglas Thompson is the very succesful journalist who has done the biographies of Madonna et al. I am a lesser known novelist of two strange books (so far) called Ultrameta and Sylvow. Horses for courses and all that, but I’m sure my books will offer you a quite refreshing change from his, and visa versa. I wish him (and you) well of course.
